Two researchers from the Soft Robotics Research Center (SRRC) started for joint research in September 2020 with renowned overseas research institutes. Dr. Junghwan Byun, who studies flexible electronic circuits applicable to body-attached wearable devices, will work with Max Planck Institute in Germany, and Dr. Min-Soo Kim, who studies micro-robots using shape memory alloys, at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETHZ), respectively, for one year. Despite the worldwide risk of infectious diseases, two young researchers are actively engaged in research. Dr. Min-Soo Kim said, "Although research conditions are limited, we will make efforts to achieve more advanced research results through a good opportunity to conduct joint research at the best research institutes." This program, supported by the Basic Science Research Program through the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) funded by the Ministry of Education, will be a great opportunity for the best researchers at our center to study with prominent overseas research institutes.
